Overview
This work simulates facial wrinkles caused by contact using a finite element model of layered, viscoelastic skin. High-order solid-shell elements capture fine-scale deformation, while a continuum model of skin ligaments represents attachments to underlying tissues. Synthetic tests and comparisons with real footage evaluate how wrinkles form and relax.
